Here’s an interesting article on the rural brain drain by some people who have missed the entire point of why people leave their small towns (although some of the commenters obviously get it: “I left because as a 20-something I was bored. There were few options for entertainment, socialization, or friendship…If one is gay, feminist, a person of color, or enjoys healthy political discourse, the truth is that person may not find a friendly welcome in a large number of rural locales.”)
